To learn about me, we need to start with my childhood in Eugene, Oregon...

Okay, not really. I'm just kidding. I don't think there is any need to inflict a lengthy account of my childhood on you.

But, with those few sentences, I've given you a glimpse of my voice. My voice is personable and social. It's humorous and sometimes just plain silly. It conveys knowledge without being overly formal. Occasionally, it's just a little sarcastic. My goal is to project my voice in all the writing on my site so that when you view the site you know my personality and my passions (my family, hiking, rock climbing, sports, and reading).

Why? Because I want you to know the authentic me when you give me a call to help you find your voice and help with your communications with customers. Because when you call me, you need to know the kind of help you are getting and not just my expertise.

Sure, I can write. I've been writing for 10 years with experience writing for non-profits, collateral material for a lending business, websites, and eNewsletters. I understand keywords and search engine optimization. I absolutely know what it means to run a business.

For example, imagine you are looking for a financial advisor. You've found two different advisors on the internet who both have great qualifications.

  • The first has a thoroughly professional and distant site with the standard information about investments and securities.

  • The other has the same great information, but also has a unique voice communicating a love of golf. You also love golf.

All things being equal, who are you likely to call first? Which advisor would resonate with you?

There are many great communicators out there. That's why I've developed my voice. Because if you know my voice, you'll either like what you hear and want to work with me or you won't. Either way, you have a head start on finding the best consultant for you.

Once a customer has connected with your voice and you've delivered excellent service, you've made a friend. That friend is more likely to use your services again, and tell their friends about your service.
